How to Reach Jolly Buoy Island

To visit Jolly Buoy -

First, travel from Port Blair to Wandoor Jetty (about a 30–40 minute drive) gateway to the Mahatma Gandhi Marine National Park.  Then board a private speed boat (30–45 minute ride) that takes you across crystal waters to the island (you can book your tickets from our website). Boats typically depart early morning and return by afternoon or evening — perfect for a day trip. The forest permit is arranged by us in advance, so you avoid lines at the government office. 

Important information: 

  • Permit Required: A Forest Department permit is mandatory. Aashrey arranges this, so you skip waiting at the permit counter. 

  • Opening Season: Jolly Buoy is open from November to April/May. Closed during monsoon season for reef.
